A 20-year-old youth died after his bike hit a tree near Vairawal under Nazeerabad police station on Sunday. According to the police, an injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
The deceased sustained severe head injuries which proved fatal for him. The deceased was on his way to Nazeerabad when he met the accident at around 9 in the night. The deceased was identified as Puran Singh. The tree which was lying on the road was not spotted by the deceased and thus, his bike hit the tree.
After the preliminary investigation, the body was sent for the post-mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
Drunk driving cannot be ruled out in this connection. The deceased was not wearing helmet which proved costly.
Meanwhile, a 25-year-old youth was attacked by over a dozen miscreants over a petty issue at Barkhedi under Jehangirabad police station area late in the night on Sunday. The victim Shashank Pandey was attacked by over a dozen miscreants after his bike was hit by three bike-borne miscreants at around 11 in the night.
In his complaint, the victim stated that when he opposed their move, they started abusing and a scuffle followed and after spotting Shashank in trouble, his friend, Rahul, came to rescue but by the time, the two could be rescued,they escaped. Then, around a dozen men came in support of the miscreants and assaulted the two and later escaped from the spot. Police have registered a case against unidentified miscreants and started investigation.
