Two children drowned at swimming pool at Gyan Ganga Academy School premises under Misrod police station area on Friday.
According to the police two children drowned at swimming pool of Gyan Ganga School in the afternoon on Friday. The two were identified as Riya Kushwaha (4) and Pramod Kushwaha (3).
Riya Kushwaha’s father Pawan Kushwaha and Pramod Kushwaha’s father Shankar Kushwaha work as drivers with the school and reside at the school campus with their families. SDOP of Misrod Ateeq Ahmed Khan said that it was an accident but occurred due to negligence on the part of school management which would be investigated and if the management is found guilty case would be registered against the responsible authority.
In the initial investigation police found that in the afternoon the two went outside and not returned for long after which the family members started searching for them and found the two inside the swimming pool. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were declared dead. Bodies of the deceased were sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
Circumstantial evidences suggest that the two came to play near the pool and drowned accidentally while playing but the ease with which the two reached the unguarded swimming pool would be investigated.
