An 18-year-old girl was sexually exploited for the past three years on the promise of marriage at Habibganj area. A complaint was lodged by the victim on Thursday.
According to the police, the victim was sexually assaulted by the accused Pancham Singh for the past three years and during the period assured her of marriage and continued to sexually exploit her.
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under sections 376 and 506 of the IPC.
The victim came into contact with the accused around three years ago and was lured by the accused of marriage. The two developed relationship and on April 16, 2017, the victim was accompanied by the accused to his flat in Habibganj where she was sexually assaulted and the ordeal continued for the next three years. The Victim claimed that she wasminor at the time of sexual assault. But when she turned 18 and asked for marriage, the accused refused to marry.
Later, when the victim presurised her of marriage, the accused threatened her of life and escaped from his house. The victim informed her mother and they approached Habibganj police and lodged a complaint on Thursday.
The accused is still absconding and search has been intensified, said police. The victim works as a domestic help and met the accused when she used to visit nearby area for work. The details of the accused are yet to be found.
