A 16-year-old youth was attacked by a miscreant with sharp-edged weapon at Anna Nagar under Govindpura police station area late in the night on Tuesday.
According to the police an injured youth who was attacked with a sharp edged weapon was rushed to a nearby hospital and later he was referred to JP hospital where his condition is reportedly stable.
A complaint was lodged by victim’s father Ramashankar against Saddam who
abused the victim and when he opposed he was attacked with a sharp edged weapon in his stomach. Based on the complaint a case was registered in the early morning hours on Wednesday.
In the initial investigation police found that the victim was abused by the accused at Anna Nagar at around 9 pm and escaped the spot. later the accused was nabbed by the police.
Police said that the accused do not hold any criminal record and other details of the accused would be searched. The police have registered a case under section 307,294 and 323 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
During the investigation police found that the victim was attacked after he stopped accused from smoking in front of his house which angered the accused and he started abusing the victim. The fight soon took and ugly turn after the victim was attacked with a sharp edged weapon and attacked the victim in his stomach. The victim raised alarm but before he could be rescued the accused escaped the spot. The accused used to tease and harass the locals in the past alleged victim’s father.
