Bhopal police have identified around 125 people out of 900 dwelling Irani Dera who have been involved in criminal activities while Danny and Waqar Irani who were involved in attacking policemen at Irani Dera during arrest of suspect hiding at Irani Dera.
In recent major action by police and district administration massive encroachment was removed which was around worth Rs 100 crores in which 29 shops made over encroached land and rent worth lakhs of rupees was collected by Waqar and Danny Irani who were main accused in attacking policemen.
Around six decades ago 60 migrant families took shelter near platform number 6 of Bhopal railway station and now number of families rose to 900.
Police have identified around 125 people of the Irani Dera who are involved in serious offences in the state capital and state.
The residents of Irani Dera have been involved in all kinds of wrong doings for long and have lost their case of settling on encroached land three years ago in the High Court still the families continued to stay the Dera as police and administration shied in removing the settlement over encroached land but recently after policemen were attacked by women and men at the Irani Dera senior officials and representatives of government took stern action and razed encroached land by Irani Dera people.
Police resorted to firing in air to keep the hooligans at bay and managed to arrest one of the accused.
