The Bhopal Institute of Gastroenterology and Gastrocare Multispeciality Hospital is set to organize the 10th Annual Conference on May 10 and 11, bringing together experts from across the country to discuss critical vascular events affecting the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and liver. The conference, themed "Vasocon – Vascular Events in GI Tract and Liver: Pick in Time and Treat Them Well!", is being held in association with the Indian Society of Gastroenterology (MP Chapter) and is supported by the Indian Medical Association Greater Bhopal Branch, Association of Physicians of India MP Chapter, Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (MP Chapter), Bhopal Haematology Society, and the Bhopal Surgeon's Club, under the aegis of Gastrocare Foundation.

The event will take place at Hotel Courtyard by Marriott, Bhopal.

Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Organising Chairman of the conference, stated that bleeding and thrombosis remain among the leading causes of death globally, alongside infections and cancers. "The fundamentals of bleeding and thrombosis are consistent, regardless of the organ affected. It is crucial to revisit and reinforce these basics regularly," he noted.

Dr. Kumar highlighted the remarkable advances in blood bank practices, diagnostic technologies, and treatment modalities that have reshaped the management of these conditions. "Keeping these developments in view, this year’s conference will focus on vascular events in the GI tract and liver, aiming to foster early diagnosis and timely intervention,” he added.

The annual event, traditionally held on the hospital's foundation day, continues to serve as a platform that blends basic medical sciences with the latest clinical updates, presented in the form of practical, evidence-based guidelines. This year’s edition, Big Update 2025, promises an enriching two-day program packed with lectures, panel discussions, symposia, debates, and challenging case studies.
