A 10-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at Chawani Pathar village under Bilkharia police station area; a case was registered against the accused on Tuesday.
According to the police, the victim was sexually assaulted by the accused Gyani Yadav of the same locality and escaped the spot.
The victim was sexually assaulted at around 5 pm on Tuesday and when the victim was at her house with her younger brother. At the time of the incident victim’s younger brother was playing outside the house while her parents have gone for work. Her parents work as labours who were at work and when they returned in the evening the victim reported the incident and after which her parents approached police and lodged complaint.
Police have not found any record of the accused and have started searching for the details of the accused. In the initial investigation police have found that the accused was a habitual drinker and at the time of the incident he was drunk.
The accused used to work as labour but used to spend most of his earning on liquor. The family of the accused would be questioned for determining the whereabouts of the accused.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 376, 452, 506 and section 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act. Police said that the accused went absconding and is still missing. Search for the absconding accused has been intensified.
