1 year in office: State Govt's 'report card' soon

Staff Reporter

The ruling BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh will present its report card before the public, the party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi from December 12 to December 21 on the completion of its one year in office.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra, who is also the spokesperson for the State Government, informed this to reporters after an informal meeting of the State Cabinet.

He said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked all the Ministers to review priorities of their concerned departments as two months are left for the Government to complete one year in office.

Mishra said that all the Ministers would present a report card before media concerning the pre-determined quarterly priorities of their departments and targets achieved. Chouhan took oath as the Chief Minister for the third successive term on December 12 last year while the State Cabinet was sworn in on December 21 last year.

Notably, the State Government is following the line of Prime Minister who had asked his Ministers on completion of 100 days in Government to inform about their effective working. Following this, the Union Ministers were seen convening press conference either personally or through videoconferencing.

On the occasion, the Ministers were apprised about the impact of Cyclone Hudhud in Madhya Pradesh by the Regional Meteorological Department’s Director Anupam Kashyapi. Kashyapi informed that the wind speed of Hudhud remained around 25 kmph in the State. Rainfall was predicted in 9-11 districts in the State’s eastern region. No major loss is expected.
