Staff Reporter

If there is no tree, then there will be no tomorrow, is not a slogan, it is a warning, said Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, Girish Gautam  while planting a tree in Rachna Towers premises on Cooperative Day.

On the occasion of International Cooperative Day on Saturday along with Gautam  Minister for Cooperatives Arvind Bhadauria, Chairman of the Housing Committee of the Vidhan Sabha, Yashpal Sisodia, other officials were present.

Rachna Towers complex is being constructed for Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha members, former members and employees-officers of the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat.

On this occasion, Gautam said that there is a continuous increase in natural calamities, to prevent them, balance in nature is necessary. Today there is a need for tree plantation. No trees, no tomorrow, this is not just a slogan, but a warning.

He said that today problems like global warming have arisen. We are destroying the forests, digging up the mountains to fulfill our greed. These are signs of a serious condition. We should understand what a tree is worth.

He said that development cannot be stopped. Roads, dams, houses will become everything, but balance in nature is also necessary. It is necessary to decide that if we cut one tree, we should plant ten trees instead.

Giving information about the rich traditions of Vindhya region for nature conservation, the Speaker said that there is a tradition of taking the tree as a son and nurturing it as well as the marriage of the garden. The purpose behind these traditions is to save nature. Earlier, when there was no shortage of oxygen, there was a sense of protection of the tree, so in today's situation, we must understand its importance.
