A devotional play Bhakt Puranmal will be staged at Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum’s YouTube channel. It will be performed here on Friday under Uttaradhikar series.  The play is directed by Dayaram Bhand and was performed in Kuchamani Khayal style.

In this theatrical performance, the audience got to see the amazing confluence of Bhakti Ras as well as Shringar Ras and Karuna Ras. The time limit of this play was about one hour and 30 minutes.

In the context of devotion of this theatrical performance, it can be understood that completely losing oneself in the presiding deity is the ultimate goal of devotion and true devotion can only be achieved by completely destroying the ego. Bhakti is followed at three levels - the stage of aspiration, the phase of the divine mood and finally the union with your chosen ideal or with your being.

The theatrical performance is centered on character named Puranmal, who is a great devotee of Shiva. Puranmal's father's name is Shankh Bhati and he has two wives - Padmavati and Lunadeya, the mother of Padmavati Puranmal. Devoted by Puranmal, his stepmother Lunadeya is very irritated and vows to take Puranmal's test.
