The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University) has revised the fee structure from existing Rs 53,000 to Rs 70,000 annually for its 11 University School of Studies (USS) for fresh admissions for the academic year 2016 - 17. The fee revision, which was last done in 2011-12, was done after the decision of the Board of Management of the University.
The increase of Rs 17,000 annually as fee structure is completely justifiable and this revised fee structure is lowest in comparison to other Government-run technical institutions of Delhi like Delhi Technical University (DTU), Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology (NSIT), Indira Gandhi Women Technical University (IGWTU) and IIIT, Delhi.
Moreover, under the Economic Weaker Section (EWS) scheme of the university, financial assistance of about two crore was provided to the students of the weaker section of the society in the academic session 2015-16. While provision for the same for the academic session 2016-17 has been made by the university of Rs 2.5 crore.
Moreover, the university has been assisting students in obtaining educational loan from the University banker —Indian Bank.
