While success can mean different things to different people, one thing all definitions have in common is that success is measured by achieving goals that make you feel positive emotions, for example, happiness and achievement. You will find the greatest success comes when you use your passions to create your goals in life and work.

Set goals that feed your soul: It is important that you set goals for your personal and professional lives. These goals become the target to aim for. They help you gauge how you see your life evolving. Once you've listed your goals, it's important to write down the steps you are going to take to achieve them. Add who or what can help you to your list. Solicit the help of an accountability partner, mentor or coach who can help and support you.

Personal and professional lives are inter-dependent: You may think that your career goals are totally separate from your personal goals. However, they are inter-dependent. Your career relies on your well-being, impacts on your family and relationships, your health and happiness. Your happiness, relationships and health are affected by your career. If you're not happy at work or doing a job you love, then it will have an impact on your emotional and physical well-being, as well as affecting other areas of your personal life.

Find your passion and purpose: If your personal and professional lives are inter-dependent, then to be successful in them you will need to discover your passion and purpose. By discovering these you will create determination to succeed, enhance your creativity, spark inspiration and be able to harness the power of flow in your activities.

Ask yourself what you really want to do with your life. What do you want your legacy to be?

The only way to increase your desire to succeed is to have faith in your plans and to believe more in your dreams. But the question is, how can this be done?

Create the seed: Let's suppose you decided to become rich. The first thing you need to do is to find out how rich people live, see the cars they drive, get inside their homes (even online), know how they feel (by visualizing) and get to compare yourself with them. When you do so, you will find that you got emotionally charged and this is where the little seed gets created.

Water the seed; talk about your dreams: Once you have the dream in mind start to talk about it with close friends and the people you trust. Do you know why people get attached to others and find it hard to forget them?

It's because of the continuous talk that they did about them. In other words, when you talk more about something you become more attached to it. In addition, people will keep asking you about your progress and so you will keep getting reminded of your mission.

Show it to your subconscious mind: Now that the idea became stronger in your mind, try to take small actions to prove to your subconscious mind that you really want it. This small action can be as simple as meeting your potential business partner to tell him about your idea or writing the plan down.

Keep watering the seed by strengthening the belief: If you did one or two small actions then your dream will fade away quickly from your subconscious mind and you will find yourself lacking motivation once again. Continuity in taking these actions is the only way to strengthen that belief

Meet motivating people, read inspirational quotes, article and books that remind you of your dreams. Read about the inspirational stories of people who achieved your same dream. This will keep your beliefs about your dreams strong.
