ASHUTOSH MODI, executive director, EntrancePrime talks to SANGEETA YADAV about how the modules of online preparation and entrance exam are prepared and ensure a thorough preparation by the students
Tell us about various test series offered by EntrancePrimeIJ
Currently, we are offering multiple test series for JEE Main, BITSAT, AIPMT, NTSE, CA-CPT and CBSE. Our test series are priced from Rs 299 to Rs 6,999 depending upon the difficulty of exam and number of tests. We are developing content for CSAT and CAT and are planning to launch products for 2016 exams.
How are these test preparedIJ
Our aim is to create a rich question data bank for any exam that we add. We do this by involving subject experts with at least 10 years of work experience in that particular subject. Once we’ve the question data bank ready, we decide the structure of our test series on the basis of the kind of preparation needed for that exam.
The exams that require high level of preparation like JEE, will have detailed chapter tests, part syllabus tests, full subject tests and full syllabus mock tests whereas exams like NTSE has sectional tests and full syllabus mock tests. Depending upon the structure of the test series, our system picks the most relevant questions from our data bank and creates tests. These tests are then reviewed by our subject experts before they go live.
What is the benefit of preparing for the entrance exam from EntrancePrimeIJ
We keep telling our students that it is important to know the game and the rules, but more important is to practice. Often, students who know more answers in a paper, do not score the best marks. They may lack skills like time management and may commit a few silly mistakes. We encourage students to practice more, rule out the possibility of silly mistakes and learn time management. Rhetorically, we help them master the art of test taking apart from preparing the syllabus.
How does EntrancePrime ensures a complete preparation of students for the examsIJ
We’ve a tradition in EntrancePrime which is called PASS (Performance Assurance Service for Students). This system continuously monitors student’s test taking pattern. If we find that the pattern is irregular, falling behind or the performance graph is downwards, we get in touch with them and their parents through SMS, e-mail and phone calls. We suggest them ways to improve their test taking frequency and performance.

How is online mode of exam preparation different from offline modeIJ
We don’t see online and offline modes of preparation as alternatives. Offline preparation can never lose its importance. Online preparation acts as a tool to score better marks. With online preparation, come flexibility, mobility, detail and convenience. Online is instant, it is on-demand. You can use it anytime, anywhere with no dependency at all. The kind of analysis and comparisons online can offer is impossible in offline mode. You can compare your performance with your peers who are separated by geography.
