Genesis conversations

Pioneer
Genesis Global School a premier day-cum-residential school in Noida, organised the 9th edition of “Genesis Conversations” for the students. The theme for this edition was ‘Humour:  Nice part of character’. The guest speaker on the occasion was Sanjeev Bhaskar, comedian, actor & broadcaster. He is best known for his work in the BBC Two comedy series Goodness Gracious Me and as host of The Kumars at No 42. He has also presented and starred in a documentary series called India with Sanjeev Bhaskar and has also been listed in The Observer as one of the 50 funniest actors in British comedy in 2003.
Bhaskar had an extensive three-hour interactive session with the students, where he talked about the importance of learning to laugh at oneself and how humour plays an important role in shaping one’s personality. He also stressed on how effective a good sense of humor can be in overcoming several difficulties in life and enthralled the audience with several anecdotes from his own childhood.
He said that comedians are believed to have freedom of speech where they make fun of everyday things in life and people. However, at the same time, with this freedom of speech comes responsibility; one must be careful to not hurt anybody’s sentiments. Moreover, humor is a great way to connect with people. It binds people together and increases happiness.
Speaking at the occasion, Pramod Sharma, principal, Genesis Global School, said: “With these sessions, the aim is to motivate and encourage young students by bringing in personalities from various fields like politics, sports, entertainment, education and it is our continuous efforts to provide maximum exposure to our students.
This initiative is part of our philosophy to develop in our scholars’ optimism, confidence, enthusiasm, concern for justice and an idealism, which will metamorphose into growth, and a global perspective that they should carry as young adults.”
