WORK 4 PROGRESS PROGRAMME
Development Alternatives recently launched Work 4 Progress programme in India. A platform to co-create systemic solutions that unleash entrepreneurship to secure sustainable livelihoods at scale.
The primary objective of this international programme is to create jobs and livelihood opportunities for women and young people in low-income communities. The platform will be an action and learning environment that enables individuals and communities to work together to evolve innovative business models and market eco-systems that liberate their entrepreneurial energies and generate jobs in significant numbers.
The global commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 8 lays emphasis on “inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.” The launch event — Jobs We Want — will initiate the processes of dialogue, knowledge-sharing and collaboration, and demonstrate the synergies and results possible with systemic approaches to job creation.
STUDENT DESIGNERS SHINE
JD Institute of Fashion Technology, an institutional partner of India Fashion Week london, saw the students of the institute promote Indian fashion at the Europe’s largest Asian Fashion event held at Olympia london. The collection was an amalgamation which speaks of the rich culture of Mughals, Rajputs and Deccanis.
The fashion week in london successfully delivered a suite of events which have strong roots within the British Asian community. It was a huge platform for student designers to establish a foothold in the luxury premium market. Harsh Dalal, director operations of JD Institute of Fashion Technology said: “Through platforms like these, we are focused on providing students with the very best in global experience, holistic development and use of technology in learning.”
