Are you also caught in the placement feverIJ Do you also get sleepless nights wondering where your luck will take youIJ Whether in class or canteen, the conversation only takes you back to placements. Here are some tips to prepare yourself well for the interview:

Good resume: A well made resume is a sine qua non for a job. Short listing for the interview call is done based on the facts given in the resume. Don't misrepresent facts in the resume.

Communication skill: Your communication skills shows your personality, thus it’s very important to speak fluently.

Revise your knowledge: It’s advisable to revise all that has been taught in the course. Domain knowledge is essential. Brush up the happenings in the business world/ current affairs.

Dress appropriately: You should be very careful before you choose your outfit for the interview. Don't dress casually in jeans and T-shirts. Men should wear formals (blue/black/grey) suit, (white/blue) shirt, matching tie buttoned up. Women should be in Indian formal wear (saree or suit). You can show your sense of style, but consider limiting your outfit to basics and add one great accessory or colorful piece.

Pretend to be organised: It's okay if you're not a paragon of organisation and neatness, but you should pull yourself together and act like one for this event at least. Have several printed copies of your resume readily available with you; keep your phone on silent.

Rehearse: Interviewers are not always that creative so you're bound to get a few of the standard questions along the way. You should prepare your answers well and rehearse them several times before you actually interview.

Do your homework: At a minimum, you should know what the company does, how they fare within their industry and who their customers and competitors are.

Question Authority: Ask questions. If you don’t ask, the interviewer will guess that you're either not interested, not very bright, unengaged, oddly introverted, or just not analytical enough to dig below the surface.
