Career counseling workshop

CareerCo, with its scientifically designed online psychometrics assessments followed by counseling provide valuable insights about the skills, knowledge, aptitude and personality required for a career choice, recently organised a series of workshops to help children realise where their aptitude lies.

“Today in a fast moving and dynamically changing world, early planning for a career gives you an advantage over your peers. At the same time, parents also need to shed the traditional approach towards choosing a career and be more open to the emerging unconventional yet promising fields,” says Alok Jain, founder and head, CareerCo, emphasizing on chalking out all options in career that are available today instead of just focusing on the traditional ones like engineering or medical sciences.

The workshops were aimed to create awareness amongst parents and children about the availability of multiple career choices and the need to start looking for options early in life. The experts interacted one-on-one with students as well as their parents, and advised them on prospective career options.

The interactive sessions turned out to be extremely beneficial for the students as they not only got an opportunity to gauge their strength and aptitude but also received guidance and advice on their future strategies.

“Parents should not stop their children from venturing into fields like journalism or photography if they have a flair for them, just because they want them to be a doctor or lawyer. It is an open field where every child should be given the right to find her own path and blossom,” said Jain.

As soon as children complete their matriculation, their home becomes a powerhouse of activities - discussions on what subjects to choose, which career would be more viable and lucrative, coaching, tuitions, and many other academic pursuits. It is always better to seek guidance from an expert.
