A worker died at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant after he fell into Coke Oven Battery-1. The deceased was identified as Sanjeev Kumar Singh, a native of Jharkhand. He was working as a mechanical supervisor at Fosbel India.
The accident occurred when Sanjeev Kumar Singh was returning after inspecting ovens 222 and 223 in the coke oven battery. He accidentally fell into oven 226. His body was recovered in a charred condition.
The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. His body was shifted to a government hospital for a post-mortem examination.
