In the recent past, someone came asking for what lies in stock of his friend’s destiny. The gentleman did not disclose his identity. All that he shared was that his friend’s extraordinary talent and organisational skill proved his nemesis, which invited the ire of a very powerful lobby left behind in the run. His detractors conspired and entrapped his friend in legal cases of serious dimension. They wished to oust him and gain control of the organisation to serve their vested interest. Guided by pundits of repute, all remedial measures suggested have been done. Yet, there seems to be no respite.
After a look at his friend’s chart revealed that that the case seems to be long drawn and may take nothing less than 4 years for him to find reprieve. But you can’t simply blame his detractors. To make things clear, a look into the premise on which the theory of karma stands, becomes imperative. Well, human beings enjoy the exclusive privilege of guiding their action by choice. But whenever there is choice, the probability of its use and misuse remains equal. And there is no scope for a free lunch in this world. You have to, therefore, bear with the consequences of the choices you make. The seed that you sow today will emerge into a fruit bearing tree later. Evidently, the fruit will carry the imprint of character and content of the seed sown. Following this spirit, one gets bound by a continued chain of karmic carryover, which may stretch on to even successive life, if not exhausted during the ongoing existence.
Ordinarily, human actions are driven by indwelling sense of desire. Added up with choice option, one charts out self-designated path, often in conflict with others. In turn, that leads to such happenings as your friend is accosted with. To overcome this vulnerability, human beings are armed with the faculty of discriminate intelligence, which enables you to make reasoned choices, and helps intelligently deal with challenges in the way.
The paradox, however, is that the faculty of discriminate intelligence does not play out spontaneously. It needs to be consciously invoked. But caught up in egotistical bind, and carried away by inherent habits and attitudes, often one forgets calling up one’s empowerment tool for due diligence before getting into an act. Instead, one acts, reacts, and responds on instinctive judgment, and evidently to one’s detriment.
