The deliberations in the previous issue stand true to the Vedic saying: “Yata brahmande, tata pindam,” implying, “As the macrocosm, so is the microcosm.” Seen in practical terms, it means that all nature-driven shaktis, each carrying their respective intelligence, are there in a being. That makes connect and continuum between the cosmos and life mechanism on earth imperative. Out of them, the ones made available by the Sun, serve as the prime-mover.
All through their annular run, the nature driven forces keep recharging our indwelling shaktis to nourish and sustain our dynamic existence. Added to this is the fact that nature’s energy providers, each following their exclusive elliptical trajectory, keep moving at their respective speed. Consequently, when viewed with reference to earth, which itself keeps spinning at great speed, the energy dynamics of nature keeps varying widely every moment. Periodically thus, it keeps shuttling between extreme lows and highs.
That makes it incumbent upon us to remain alive about the periodic callings of the varying dynamics of nature’s energy orchestra. Only then one could consciously work towards making up for deficiency if any, at any point of time. Mind it; nature with all its periodic variation, keeps moving involuntarily, with no scope for any variation from its predefined limits. Humans, on the contrary, enjoy choice option. So, corrective initiative if any that may be warranted needs to be consciously willed upon.
Now, the Sun being the lead player in cosmic energy framework, its positioning does also serve as the marker of the varying energy dynamics of nature. For instance, during the Shardiya Navratri period, seen with reference to India, the Sun would be heading towards its nadir. While traversing the Southern hemisphere, it is about to touch the western horizon, whereas we are located towards eastern horizon in the northern hemisphere. Evidently therefore, the availability of solar intensity in this part of the globe comes to its lowest ebb. This particular energy frame also leads to major weather transition from rainy to winter season. This phase does also tell upon our overall vitality, immunity level, confidence status, and work spirit, and at a time when a new productivity cycle is to take off.
Accordingly, Navratri is so timed as to consciously submit ourselves to a prayer regimen, purposely as to reinvigorate our indwelling energy resources, when it is needed the most. We thus get geared up, in the first place, to intelligently brave limitations exercised by seasonal variation. Second, take on challenges ahead in all strength with ease and comfort. Third, raise the work spirit so as to do justice to our productive aspirations. Fourth, improve our sense of alert necessary to grab in time, opportunities if any available, and confidently pursue them to their logical end.
Now, look at the process. The devout, is supposed to repeatedly recite specific mantra with focus on the imagery of Mother Goddess Durga. The vibrations excited by intonation of the mantra, finds connect with corresponding energy resource in nature, which in turn, would rekindle our indwelling energy resource. The educative import of the imagery sets the terms of our intent. As you would be aware, Goddess Durga is believed to be epitome of shakti. But mind it; any empowerment tool remains a double edged weapon. If employed towards right end, it may prove rewarding and fulfilling, which when misdirected could lead to disastrous consequences. Here comes our intent into play.
In order to keep our intent right, we dwell on a motherly form mounted on a lion. Remember, a mother selflessly pools in all resources in stock to produce and nurture a child. And her mount, lion, is a very intelligent animal. When it goes for a kill, it approaches the prey very carefully and strategically. It is only when the prey would be within its reach that it extols all its energy and pounces upon it. But it does not go for the next kill till it becomes hungry once again after exhausting its feed. So, even the killing is need based, not greed based. The obvious message for us is to train our minds to intelligently put to use our shakti to service our need based requirements. Any misuse to serve our greed, we may fall short of energy needed to meet our existential needs.
Following the above spirit, it is time now to reinvent afresh, and be in readiness to take on the callings of emerging time in all strength, and with ease and comfort.
