The New Year took off with a negative note as indicated in the opening issue of this column. While scripting the opening issue towards December end, I never knew that the Pakistan based terrorists were already on their prowl to play spoilsport with our New Year euphoria. It did surprise me as that is what Mars ruffling feather with its dire enemy Saturn implies. Much before said issue would have reached readers hands, the terrorists had successfully intruded Pathankot Air Force Station premises, which should have been impenetrable.
The terrorists have been eliminated and the Air station premises fully sanitised by now, but not before seven bravehearts got martyred. They deserve our salutation. let me reiterate here that the country cannot afford complacence during this calendar year. For, Mars and Saturn will continue to rough shoulders almost all through the year and play the devil. All the more because, Saturn continues to transit Mars owned war sign Scorpio, coincidentally the 7th house of India’s Independence chart, identified with forces inimical to the country. The obvious implication is that the country remains vulnerable to such assaults throughout the year.
Not to point fingers on our bravehearts, who are always prepared to lose their life for nation’s security, but as a conscientious citizen, it is time now for us to figure out our own fault-lines. It is just not enough to put the blame on inimical forces. They will be always gunning for our blood. What is more important to know how alert and prepared we are to checkmate such eventualities, if they are to ever confront us. The sequence of events clearly points to our lax response. The moot question is: Despite having enough of forewarnings and specific intelligence inputs at least 12 hours in advance, how come we failed to make a quick responseIJ Otherwise, the terrorists would not have been able to get inside the premises of such a vital defence establishment so easily, baffling our security apparatus, keeping us engaged for almost 72 hours.
War of words had to naturally follow under such circumstances, as the conscientious people concerned about nation’s security would naturally ask uncomfortable questions from the ruling elite. And the opposition parties are well within their right to raise their decibel level against the Government’s preparedness level. But the call of the hour is to shed our egos and ideological differences on matters concerning national security and act in togetherness. That would, however, be possible if the ruling elites take the initiative.
I wish, those at the lead, rise above the implications of the Sun crossing path with Uranus in the referral charts pointing to the possible response pattern of the ruling class. It may not be out of place to mention here that whenever the Sun, which is identified with those in the lead, forms an unholy alliance with Uranus in mundane chart, the ruling clique seem to be keen to prove themselves as a class apart. In that hang, often they do not take kindly to counsel of even independent minded conscientious people.
I take the opportunity to share with all concerned the governance model in evidence in the imagery of lord Shiva and his court. lord Shiva is perceived mounted on an ox, surrounded by godly bodies, humans, demons, animals, goblins, and such assorted groups of creatures, symbolising diverse nature of existence. There remains an inherent incommunicability amongst His courtiers. All of them are bound by their individual limitations. And yet, lord Shiva remains in accord with one and all consciously ignoring their individual limitations, as would his half closed and half-open eyes imply. Not only that, He absolves them of their three types of sins through the three phalanges of His trident, and absorbs them in the form of poison of the venomous snake circling round His neck. But it could be no compulsion on the part of lord Shiva to take all the pains. He purposefully does that. For, He is aware that if all and sundry in His court have their individual limitations, they are also endowed with such virtues as would be necessary for sustenance of the existential order. So, in order to avail of their positives, He maintains harmony and symphony amongst them through the play of damru (hand drum) He holds in his hand, so as to ensure a smooth run of existential order.
Our country will remain in safe hands if those at the helm of affairs follow lord Shiva’s governance model.
