Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste and Backward Class Welfare Department Minister Chamra Linda held a review meeting with Tribal Welfare Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha and other officials in Kalyan Complex today. Linda told the officials that the work of all of you is commendable for organizing the enrollment examination of all other welfare residential schools including Eklavya on time without any complaint and hindrance.
He said that work should be done by making a plan to provide quality education to the ST/SC children of the state. He said that the year 2025-26 will be the Tribal Self-Respect Year, dedicated efforts should be made for this. He said that the tribal society here is synonymous with the unique identity of Jharkhand. The culture, traditions, and lifestyle of the 32 tribal communities of Jharkhand are the heritage of this land. For centuries, these communities have maintained a balance between society and nature with their labour, struggle and courage. Today it is relevant that we not only preserve their glorious past, but also further empower their self-respect and rights. We can strengthen their self-respect by promoting education, health, employment and traditional livelihood opportunities.
The Minister said that our government is committed to taking such policy decisions for the uplift of the tribal society, which will accelerate their social, economic and cultural empowerment. Their respect, self-respect, welfare and development should not only be a constitutional responsibility, but also a reflection of our moral values. The Welfare Minister said that our department should, through its efforts, realise the dream of such a Jharkhand where the tribal society can live a life of self-respect with its rights and can preserve its unique cultural heritage for the coming generations.
Managing Director TCDC Neelsom Bag, Deputy Director Dhirendra Singh, Deputy Director Monika Tooti, Rakesh Oraon, Amrita Kujur etc were present in the meeting.
