The 271st World Homoeopathy Day was celebrated in the state capital on Thursday with a solemn tribute to Dr Christian Samuel Hahnemann, founder of the homoeopathic system of medicine.
Jointly organised by the Bhopal Homoeopathic Doctors Association and the Charitable Homoeopathy Clinic, the event began with the garlanding of Dr Hahnemann’s portrait and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Chief Guest GP Baghel, General Manager, BHEL Bhopal, welcomed all attendees.
The occasion also marked Dr Hahnemann’s 217th birth anniversary. A scholar of 13 languages, he translated major medical texts and placed homoeopathy on the global map.
Inspired by his vision, the Charitable Homoeopathy Clinic has provided free treatment for natural ailments in Barkheda and Piplani for 35 years, with BHEL’s support.
Founded by 80-year-old DS Chandel, the clinic continues to motivate young homoeopathic doctors to pursue community service rooted in compassion and commitment.
Clinic President Dr Shashi Joshi said the organisation conducts 20 to 25 free health camps each year in rural areas surrounding the state capital, reaching the underserved.
Chief Guest GP Baghel praised the clinic’s ongoing efforts and assured that BHEL would continue its support to ensure wider outreach of these services.
The clinic’s operations are sustained by a team of dedicated homoeopathic doctors, including Dr Saroj Agrawal, Dr Kamalendra Kumar, Dr Vinod Khairnar, and others.
