A woman police constable from Bhopal, who had filed a rape complaint against a lieutenant colonel stationed in Uttarakhand, was on the verge of suicide but was dissuaded in time and later lodged an FIR at the Mahila police.
On Friday, her statement was recorded in court under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
According to the victim, the accused identified as lieutenant colonel ranking officer (48), had also deceived at least two other women in a similar manner. The women got in touch with each other, and during a conference call, they uncovered his web of deceit. The victim further revealed that the accused had created multiple fake social media profiles to lure and manipulate women.
Following the registration of the case, the victim alleged that the officer and his family were pressuring her to withdraw the complaint, even offering money to settle the matter.
As per the FIR filed on Thursday, the Madhya Pradesh police constable stated that she first met the accused in 2012 at an army canteen in Bhopal.
