After scorching daytime temperatures, warm nights have started adding to the discomfort, with no respite even after sunset. On Thursday night, lightning was witnessed in the state capital, but it failed to bring any rainfall.
In the past 24 hours, Shivpuri experienced both a heatwave and a warm night, making it one of the hottest regions in the state. While dry weather persisted across all divisions, Shivpuri stood out due to its extreme temperature conditions.
No major fluctuations were recorded in daytime temperatures across the state. However, in Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, and Shahdol divisions, temperatures rose above normal by 1.9°C to 2.5°C. On Friday, Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 34.9°C, while Thursday night's temperature was slightly below normal at 20.4°C.
Thursday night’s lightning and winds provided some relief, making the daytime conditions slightly more tolerable for residents. However, in Gwalior, Rewa, and Sagar divisions, night temperatures rose significantly above normal by 3.4°C to 4.2°C, intensifying the warming trend in these regions.
Night temperatures also rose notably in Narmadapuram division by 3.1°C, while Indore and Narmadapuram divisions saw an increase of 2.2°C to 3.0°C above normal. Gwalior division also reported a significant rise in night temperatures. Meanwhile, the remaining divisions of the state experienced normal temperature patterns.
According to the Meteorological Department, the rising night temperatures and fluctuating weather conditions are being influenced by changing wind patterns and localized atmospheric disturbances. While no significant rainfall is expected in the coming days, cloudy conditions and occasional gusty winds may provide temporary relief in some regions. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions against the intensifying heat.
