Village Level Workers (VLW) of Jharkhand will now do 90 per cent of the work of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department. Now the role of VLW in other departments including Panchayati Raj Department will be negligible. Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey made the announcement while addressing the state level Jan Sevak Sammelan in Lalgutuwa, Ranchi on Saturday.
Tirkey said that VLW has been appointed by the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department, while they are working in other departments including Panchayati Raj Department. Today in this Sammelan, it was good to see the eagerness of VLW to work for the Agriculture Department. Ever since assuming the ministerial post, information related to VLW has been continuously received. The surprising thing is that even the BDO of the state does not know what the work of VLW is.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey said that before coming to this program or meeting any of your representatives, I have taken concrete steps. During the departmental review meeting, I have instructed to do 90 per cent of the work of VLW across the state in the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department. Along with this, I have also asked to change the name of Jan Sevak and link it with Agriculture. Instructions have been given to conduct 2 training programs in a year with the aim of giving timely information about the schemes related to the department.
The Minister said that the department will also take other demands including promotion seriously. She said that when VLW will be connected with the schemes of the department, the speed of work will increase. Appointment in one department and establishment in another department, doing this affects the work. Departmental action has been taken to withdraw the establishment of VLW from Panchayati Raj Department. Tirkey warned the VLWs across the state that they should not do anything in the future that can raise a finger on the work of the government. You will have to make your identity on the basis of your work.
The Minister was welcomed in a traditional manner in the state level Jan Sevak Sammelan. Jan Sevak Sangh President Devendra Kumar, Provincial General Secretary Lokesh Kumar, Provincial Treasurer Luv Kumar Paswan, Provincial Senior Vice President Ramnath Yadav, Provincial Chief Coordinator Santosh Kumar, Chief Whip Dharmendra Dev, Media Incharge Om Prakash, Spokesperson Upendra Kumar Singh, Women President Kirti Rani Khalkho were present in the Sammelan.
