Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal organized 'Study Visit of Aquatic Birds at Bhoj Wetland' to mark the 'World Wetlands Day-2025'. 20 students and 01 teacher from Priyanka Middle School, Ishwar Nagar, Bhopal participated in this programme.
In the beginning of programme Scientist-C of museum Manik Lal Gupta detailed that 'Areas of marsh or water, whether natural or artificial, permanent or temporary, with the depth of water does not exceed six meters' are broadly accepted as Wetland. Gupta further informed that wetlands exhibit enormous diversity and perform numerous valuable functions such as recycle nutrients, regulating purification of water, attenuate floods, maintain streams flow, recharge groundwater, and also source of drinking water, fish, fodder and fuel.
In the next session of programme CEO of Bhopal Birds Mohammad Khalique informed that the aquatic bird plays important role to keep clean these wetlands. Students spotted various aquatic birds under the guidance of Mohammad Khalique.
