Congress leader and Haryana MLA Vinesh Phogat on Friday accused the BJP and AAP of indulging in "vote-bank" politics and claimed that only the country's oldest political party fulfills its promises made to the people.
Addressing a press conference, Phogat said former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was the first to implement the Jat OBC reservation in the capital.
"The Congress has always stood with every section of society. When the BJP introduced the three central farm laws, AAP supremo and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was the first to give his nod to them. They are against farmers, Jats, and Dalits. They only indulge in vote-bank politics," the wrestler-turned-politician said.
Phogat further criticized the BJP in Haryana, saying that the ruling party had promised to give Rs 2,100 per month to women, but it has been three months since the assembly elections and the amount has not been paid.
Similarly, she pointed out, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had promised to give Rs 1,000 per month to every woman in Punjab, but the promise has not been honored even after three years of the party being in power in the state.
On the other hand, Phogat emphasized that the Congress has fulfilled all its promises made in any state. She added that if Delhiites want development, they should once again place their faith in the grand old party, which will honor its promises.
