Mushroom cultivation has made rural women participate in the direction of economic empowerment. Mushroom yields have not only supported the removal of nutritional deficiency among rural families, but it has made hundreds of women a source of alternative income. This is empowerment of rural women in collaboration with Usha Martin Foundation.
Priya Bagchi, the manager of Usha Martin, said that the success of mushroom cultivation has brought an important positive change for hundreds of families. The additional income generated from mushroom farming has enabled him to support domestic expenses more effectively and provide better education to his child. Apart from this, this new financial freedom has empowered him, promoting his confidence and achievement.
