On the instructions of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the duration of the Vikram Vyapar Mela has been extended until April 9. In line with this, Transport Secretary Shri Manish Singh has issued the necessary orders. Exercising the powers under the Madhya Pradesh Motor Vehicle Taxation Act, the State Government, through a notification issued by the Transport Department on January 14, 2025, granted a 50 percent rebate on the lifetime motor vehicle tax.
This concession applies to the sale of all non-transport vehicles (such as motorcycles, motor cars, omni buses for personal use) and light transport vehicles purchased during the fair period of the Ujjain Vikram Vyapar Mela in the financial year 2024-25, originally valid until March 30, 2025.
In exercise of the powers conferred by the Act, the State Government has extended the validity of the exemption granted through the earlier notification until 9th April 2025, for the duration of the ongoing Vikram Trade Fair, subject to the conditions outlined in the said notification.
