Rahul Mahato, a 17-year-old archer from Budhibinor village, has secured a place in the Jharkhand team for the 44th NTPC Junior National Archery Championship, set to be held in Bolpur, West Bengal, from February 10 to 17, 2025. His achievement is a testament to the success of Vedanta ESL Archery Academy in nurturing young talent.
A Class 11 student at SMG +2 High School Bijulia, Rahul’s journey from a modest background to the national stage reflects his dedication and the impact of professional training at the academy. Since joining in 2022, he has showcased exceptional skills, earning his spot by scoring 665 points in the Jharkhand selection trials at JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur.
Vedanta ESL Archery Academy, established in 2020 under ESL Steel Limited’s CSR initiative, has been instrumental in fostering young archers. Of the eight Bokaro participants in the trials, seven trained at the academy, highlighting its role in developing Jharkhand’s sporting talent.
