Tuesday, 01 April 2025 | PNS | Chandigarh

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday inaugurated a 30-bed intensive care unit and laid the foundation stone of a postgraduate hostel accommodation at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha in Hisar. He hailed Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for his administrative abilities while attacking the Opposition parties in the state of “casteism” and “nepotism”.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Shah called Saini “a cheerful man who is always seen smiling”, adding that “he is an able administrator” as well.

Shah emphasized that Haryana no longer witnesses discrimination or caste-based favoritism in government jobs. People from a particular region are not given undue preference; instead, jobs are now given transparently without ‘Parchi Kharchi’. Nayab Sarkar has established a system that serves as a model. With this transparent and fair employment system, the trust of the youth in the government has significantly increased, said Shah.

The Union Home Minister said that unveiling the statue of Maharaja Agrasen was a great honor for him. He also paid tribute to Guru Angad Dev ji, remembering his martyrdom and the sacrifices made by Sikh Gurus for the nation.

Shah said that today marks the death anniversary of the late OP Jindal. He said that following his vision, Agroha Medical College is dedicated to public service. This hospital reflects his compassion-driven approach before business. Around 5 lakh people avail OPD services here. This institution has established a distinct place in the healthcare sector, and he hopes that in the future, patients will receive even better facilities through modern methods, he added.

He said that during the 10 years of the UPA government, Haryana received Rs. 41,000 crore from the Centre for development, whereas under the BJP-led central government, the state has received Rs. 1,43,000 crore. Haryana has set a new benchmark in Development, said the Union Home Minister.
