Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla congratulated Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting an inclusive and progressive Union Budget for the year 2025-26. He stated that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this budget will serve as a milestone in making India a self-reliant, prosperous, and developed nation. The budget has introduced comprehensive measures in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and tax reforms, benefiting all sections of society.
Expressing gratitude for the budgetary provisions in the healthcare sector, Deputy Chief Minister Shukla said that the government has taken crucial steps to expand advanced medical services. The increased allocation for the National Health Mission will strengthen healthcare services in both rural and urban areas. Additional incentives for medical device parks and public-private partnerships will ensure the availability of state-of-the-art equipment in hospitals across the state. He further emphasized that the establishment of specialized centers for the treatment of critical diseases such as cancer and heart ailments will elevate healthcare services to new heights.
Shukla highlighted that making life-saving medicines tax-free is a visionary step that will reduce medical expenses for the common people. The establishment of daycare cancer centers in every district will extend critical healthcare services to remote areas.
The decision to lower the cost of medical equipment and cancer drugs will bring revolutionary changes to the healthcare sector. A 5% reduction in customs duty on six life-saving medicines and the exemption of 13 patient assistance programs from basic customs duty will provide significant relief to the public. This initiative is a major step towards making healthcare services more accessible and affordable, aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a ‘Healthy India.’ Additionally, provisions have been made for a significant increase in medical seats, ensuring the expansion of medical education and the availability of skilled doctors in healthcare services.
