In a touching celebration of Holi, the Daksha pillar of Dristi NGO brought colors of joy to the residents of Senior Citizen Home, D.A.V. Nandraj, Bariatu. Led by Chapter Lead Nihal Verma, the initiative “Umang Holi – A Celebration of Joy & Togetherness” aimed to make the festival special for the elderly, many of whom long for companionship during festive times.
The event was filled with heartfelt interactions, an engaging round of Antakshari, and the warmth of human connection. Volunteers, including Tejal, Krishna, Vaani, Satyam, Ishika, Tanu, Kali, and others ensured that every resident felt valued and included.
To prioritize the health and safety of the seniors, the team celebrated with herbal colors and flower petals, embracing an eco-friendly way to enjoy the festival. The joyous atmosphere was further enriched with a special meal distribution featuring maalpua, dahi vada, and nimki, offering a taste of traditional festive delights.
With initiatives like these, Daksha continues to uphold the spirit of compassion, ensuring that festivals bring joy to all, regardless of age or circumstances.
