A fire broke out in a thatched hut on Wednesday night. The hut belonged to Chandradeo Ram and was located on the banks of the Son River in Banakat village. Nine goats died in the fire. Chandradeo Ram and his wife, Chandravati Devi, were seriously injured.
The couple were asleep in the hut when the fire started. The cause of the fire is unknown. The injured couple were taken to the Sadar Hospital in Garhwa. They were then transferred to Daltonganj for further treatment.
