A youth from Bhopal, identified as Rehan alias Bittu (28), tragically died after the mini-truck he allegedly stole collided with a tree in Pathakheda, Betul. The accident occurred early Friday morning, around 3:30 am, on the Sarani-Parasia State Highway.
Police suspects that Bittu was fleeing after stealing the vehicle when the crash took place, resulting in his death on the spot. After a post-mortem, the body was handed over to his family.
The stolen vehicle, which was loaded with goods, belonged to Santosh Kumar, a resident of Bajrang Mandir Pathakheda.
Kumar had parked the vehicle overnight after loading it, but it was stolen sometime thereafter. Sarani police station in-charge, Devkaran Deharia, confirmed the theft and the subsequent fatal accident.
