BJP's state spokesperson Pratul Shahdev has said that now the tribals themselves are coming out on the streets against the Abua government. Pratul said that the tribal society has been agitating for a long time to protect the Sarna Sthal located near the Siram Toli flyover.
But the government is not taking initiative on this issue. Pratul said that the government should have called the agitating tribals for talks and removed the deadlock. But the government is completely indifferent on this issue.
Tension gripped Ranchi's Sirmatoli on Tuesday afternoon during Sarhul, the biggest festival of the tribal community, due to a clash between two tribal groups.
The confrontation occurred when a group of protesters showed black flags and wore black bands on their foreheads to express opposition to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife, Kalpana Soren, as they arrived to worship at the main Sarna Sthal (place of worship).
The protests stemmed from a long-standing agitation by tribal organisations demanding the removal of the ramp of a flyover being constructed near Sirmatoli Sarna Sthal.
Pratul said that the people of the Sarna tribal society protested by wearing black badges against Chief Minister Hemant Soren who went to perform Sarhul Puja at the Siram Toli Sarna Sthal. Why does the Chief Minister not see the anger of the tribals? The Chief Minister calls himself the son of the tribal and this government the government of tribal natives. Then why are they running away from talks with the agitating Sarna tribals? Pratul said that in a democracy, the biggest deadlocks are removed only through talks.
But the Chief Minister does not seem to be interested in resolving the ongoing dispute at a major Sarna Sthal of the tribals. The sentiments of the tribals should not be played with. Pratul said that the fight for a separate state of Jharkhand was not only about getting rights for the tribal indigenous community of Jharkhand, but also about saving the religious, cultural and historical heritage of Jharkhand. Therefore, Chief Minister Hemant Soren should not be prejudiced and should immediately resolve the deadlock over the Siram Toli Sarna Sthal flyover.
