The valedictory ceremony of the three-day training workshop on care and health management of wildlife, especially Asian and American elephants, was held at the School of Wildlife Forensics and Health in Jabalpur on Wednesday.
The valedictory function for the training, held under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof Mandeep Sharma, was presided over by the Director of the State Forest Research Centre, Pradeep Vasudeva (IFS), who was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Veterinary officers working around forest areas and faculty trainees from veterinary colleges across various states of the country were awarded training certificates.
In his address, Vasudeva wished the participants a bright future, urging them to implement the knowledge gained during this important training in their daily work lives.
He thanked the organisers of the training and suggested that the institution should convene national and international seminars, workshops, and conferences to take forward the remarkable work of the premier wildlife forensics facility.
The training programme saw contributions from Ritesh Sirothia, State Tiger Strike Force, Bhopal; Dr Rakesh Kumar Singh, Deputy Director, Etawah Lion Safari, Uttar Pradesh; Dr Illiaraja, Director, Veterinary Services, Wildlife SOS, Agra; Dr Sandeep Agarwal, Wildlife Veterinarian, Kanha Tiger Reserve, Mandla; and the faculty of the institution.
RK Sharma, Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, and Dr Shobha Jaware, Director, School of Wildlife Forensics and Health, Jabalpur, also shared their views.
All the activities conducted during the training programme were presented in a moving picture by Programme Director Dr Devendra Podhade.
The ceremony was attended by respected professors of the university, heads of various faculties, faculty members, and trainee students. The programme was conducted by Dr Nidhi Rajput, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Kajal Kumar Yadav.
