Tata Steel Zoological Park is offering residents a unique opportunity to participate in naming its two newly arrived tigers—one male and one female. The tigers, which arrived at the zoo on Thursday, March 13, 2025, are currently under a mandatory 30-day quarantine period. To engage the community in this special occasion, the zoo is inviting name suggestions from the public.
Citizens can send their suggested names via SMS or WhatsApp to 8709572018 by Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Each entry must include the sender’s name and place of residence. A selection committee will review the submissions, and the most meaningful names will be chosen for the tigers. The final names will be officially announced on April 1, 2025.
The individuals whose name suggestions are selected will be duly informed and rewarded with four complimentary visitor passes for a special tour of the zoo. This initiative not only strengthens public involvement but also fosters a sense of belonging and appreciation for wildlife conservation.
“Tata Steel Zoological Park encourages all residents of Jamshedpur to participate in this exciting event and contribute to a historic moment at the zoo. Don’t miss your chance to leave a lasting legacy—send in your tiger name suggestions today,” said an official.
