Ram Navami was celebrated across Jharkhand on Sunday with deep religious fervour, as devotees gathered at temples and participated in vibrant processions amid tight security measures.
From the early hours of the day, long queues of devotees formed outside major temples across the state, reflecting the spiritual enthusiasm of the people.
In the state capital Ranchi, Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife, MLA Kalpana Soren, visited the Ram Janaki Tapovan temple to offer prayers.
Sharing greetings on the occasion, the Chief Minister posted on X, “Heartfelt congratulations, best wishes, and greetings to everyone on the holy festival of Ram Navami. The life of Lord Shri Ram gives us an unparalleled message of love, dignity, duty, discipline, generosity and sacrifice. The great ideals of the Lord will continue to inspire humanity for ages, nurturing it with an unending stream of inspiration.”
Before visiting Tapovan temple Chief Minister Soren along with his wife Kalpana Soren worshiped Lord Hanuman, marking the holy festival of Ram Navami inside the official residence in Ranchi.
The Soren couple, who reside in an adjacent official residence, came to the temple located inside the official residence of the CM and garlanded the idol of the Lord Hanuman and offered prayers to Him, a revered deity in Hinduism celebrated for his unwavering loyalty and strength, and is a central figure in the Ramayan.
Lord Hanuman, who is known as a divine loyal of the Lord Ram whose birth day is marked by celebration of the Ramnavmi across India, Indonesia and Thailand, has linked with Anjani village in Gumla, Jharkhand. As per belief among Adivasis, Anjani was mother of Lord Hanuman who resided in this village.
As such scores of Adivasis worship Lord Hanuman on the Ramnavmi, recognised as the birth day of Bhagwan Ram.
Later CM Hemant Soren along with his wife Kalpana Soren has offered prayers at Tapovan temple. In Chaitra Navratri, on one hand, Maa Siddhidatri, the 9th form of Maa Bhagwati, is being worshipped, while on the other hand, there is a celebration of Ram Navami.
On CM Soren visit to Tapovan temple the premises echoed with the slogans of Jai Siyaram and Jai Shri Ram. The Chief Minister was welcomed in a traditional manner by the Tapovan temple management.
A large number of security forces have been deployed by Ranchi Police to maintain law and order during the Ram Navami procession. At the same time, the police is keeping an eye on every picture and video coming from CCTV and drone cameras from the control room. In fact, free arrangements of sherbet, fruits and water have been made by many social workers and other organizations to welcome the Mahaveeri Pataka and Ram procession to be taken out today.
