A delegation consisting of tribal artists and performers from Jharkhand will be traveling to Delhi to take part in the grand Sarhul Milan Samaroh. This special event is scheduled to take place on April 3 at the residence of the Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth. The celebration will witness the participation of over a thousand members of Jharkhand’s tribal communities, along with several Union Ministers, making it a landmark occasion. It is being hosted by Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, marking the first time that the Sarhul festival is being organized on such a significant scale in the national capital.
Union Defence Minister, while sharing details about the upcoming celebration, highlighted the importance of Sarhul in promoting environmental consciousness. He stated that Sarhul is not just a festival but also a symbol of environmental conservation, carrying an essential message for the entire world. The traditions associated with Sarhul in Jharkhand are unique, and in an effort to introduce the rest of the country and the global community to this rich cultural heritage, the festival is now being brought to Delhi.
Excitement and enthusiasm for Sarhul can be felt across the state of Jharkhand, particularly in its capital, Ranchi. The entire region is gearing up for grand celebrations. Posters conveying the message of Sarhul have been placed at prominent locations throughout Ranchi, spreading awareness about the significance of the festival. Leaders of the state, including Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, have extended their heartfelt wishes to the people of Jharkhand, hoping for a joyful and prosperous Sarhul celebration.
As part of the festivities, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar will be attending a special program organized by Ranchi University on April 1. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Hemant Soren will visit the tribal hostel and the sacred worship site of the Central Sarna Committee at Siram Toli. He will also actively participate in the grand Sarhul Shobha Yatra, a vibrant procession that is a key highlight of the festival.
To ensure smooth and uninterrupted celebrations, the local administration has made extensive preparations. Traffic regulations have been enhanced, and a well-defined route for the Sarhul procession has been finalized. Security arrangements have also been strengthened, with police personnel strategically deployed along the procession route to maintain order and safety.
