Sports, Youth Affairs, Art-Culture and Tourism Minister Sudhivya Kumar on Thursday visited various sports complexes in Ranchi to get information about the sports infrastructure and the facilities being provided to the players.
Kumar inspected the Birsa Munda Football Stadium at Morhabadi and reviewed the preparations for the upcoming SAF Athletics Championship 2025 and directed that all the infrastructure and facilities of the stadium should be strengthened before the event. He directed the Sports Department to get the handover of the football ground from the Ranchi District Administration soon and start the work.
On this occasion, Kumar said that the Abua government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren is committed to giving new heights to sports in Jharkhand and providing world-class training and resources to the players. Our effort is that the talented players of the state perform gloriously at the national and international forums and bring laurels to Jharkhand and the country. He also inspected the Morhabadi Indoor Badminton Stadium and directed the officials to complete the instructions given earlier by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on priority basis.
He also inspected the High Performance Center run by the Sports Department, where he observed the fitness equipment and other technical resources and interacted with the players to know about their needs.
Apart from this, the Minister inspected the Athletics Stadium, Indoor Stadium and Badminton Stadium located in the Khelgaon complex and held a meeting with the officials of Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society (JSSPS) to know about the progress of the work. He reviewed the action plan of the organization through the presentation presented by JSSPS.
Minister Sudhivya Kumar directed that all the works related to the renovation of the Khelgaon complexes and the training and development of the players should be completed expeditiously. He said that Khelgaon should be developed in such a way that it is fully capable of organizing national and international level competitions in future.
During this, many officials of the concerned department were present.
