A city-wide campaign is underway in Bhopal to ensure 100% e-KYC of citizens' Samagra IDs with Aadhaar by the May 31 deadline.
The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) is running a special drive to verify all citizens’ Samagra IDs through Aadhaar-based e-KYC. Ward officers are conducting the process at local ward offices, with no charges being collected.
The campaign, which began on April 1, is set to continue until May 31. It aims to complete digital verification of all registered Samagra IDs on the integrated Samagra portal used for welfare scheme access.
Citizens can either visit their respective ward offices for e-KYC or complete the process online via the Samagra portal, all free of cost.
Municipal officials have appealed to residents to complete their e-KYC promptly, saying the campaign will improve access to public services and reduce delays in welfare scheme delivery.
The Samagra ID is a unique identification number assigned to families and individuals in the state to streamline access to government welfare schemes and services.
It acts as a centralised database that links beneficiaries to various entitlements such as pensions, scholarships, food security programmes, and health benefits.
Each citizen receives an individual Samagra ID, while families are also assigned a group ID, enabling targeted delivery of assistance based on demographic and economic data.
Updating the Samagra ID through Aadhaar-based e-KYC is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and authenticity of this database. It helps eliminate duplication, prevents fraud, and ensures that only eligible individuals receive government support.
