SJMM ultra beaten by public dies during treatment

Wednesday, 29 January 2025 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

A SJMM naxal identified as Kishore Nayak,40, succumbed to his beating by public while undergoing treatment in the community health centre at Chandwa in Latehar district today.

SP Latehar Kumar Gaurav said the ultra having a notoriety of torturing people for extortion was the most despised lot and when he and his men reached a brick kiln at Serek and there Kishore started his practice of extraction of money by assaulting brick kiln personnel, he faced resistance from the public and he then opened fire with his pistol.

The firing by Kishore had an immediate reaction as people's anger burst into a kind of revenge for all the atrocities that Kishore had so inflicted on the people here.

Kishore fled to Baree where the mob cornered him and here he was beaten up black and blue.

Police not only rescued him but reached him to the community health centre Chandwa in the middle of night and here his treatment began.

Dr Neelima Kumari medical officer in charge of the community health centre Chandwa said the naxal had neither any firearms injury nor any other visible external injuries except some abrasions on the lips and wrist of a hand.

Kishore's condition deteriorated faster in the morning today when he developed chest pain and had bouts of vomiting. He died calmly.

SP Latehar Kumar Gaurav said the SJMM ultra was externed in December 2024 but he had not forgotten his criminality after all.

He was accused of arms act as well as of the criminal law amendment act. He was a sort of a history sheeter.

Chandwa police has drawn the FIR and investigation has begun. The FIR is against his accomplices who were with the deceased at the brick kiln site using illegal forces for extracting money.
