Former Union Minister and BJP national spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy emphasized that the Union Budget for the financial year 2025-26 is a crucial step towards inclusive development, economic strength, and a self-reliant India. Addressing a press conference organized by the Economic Cell of Jharkhand State BJP at Chamber Bhawan in Bistupur on Wednesday, Rudy stated that the budget is designed to empower the middle class, farmers, youth, and entrepreneurs. He highlighted that the NDA government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to the welfare of the people, and this budget is a testament to that dedication.
Rajiv Pratap Rudy emphasized that the budget focuses on achieving the vision of "Developed India 2047" by enhancing economic strength and inclusive development. He pointed out the historic tax relief provided to the middle class, with income up to ₹12 lakh now being tax-free, benefiting individuals earning ₹1 lakh per month. Additionally, the tax deduction limit on interest for senior citizens has been increased to ₹1 lakh, and the TDS limit on rent has been raised to ₹6 lakh.
Rudy announced the launch of the 'Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana,' which will benefit farmers in 100 districts, along with an increased limit of ₹5 lakh for the Kisan Credit Card (KCC). To promote skill development among the youth, 50,000 Atal Tinkering Labs will be established over the next five years, with 6,500 and 75,000 new seats being added to IITs and medical colleges, respectively. Furthermore, ₹500 crore will be invested in artificial intelligence (AI) education.
The budget also focuses on supporting startups and MSMEs, with the MSME credit guarantee being increased to ₹10 crore and the launch of the 'Fund of Funds' scheme to provide financial assistance to new companies. To stimulate infrastructure development, ₹1.5 lakh crore in interest-free loans will be provided to states, along with an asset monetization plan worth ₹10 lakh crore.
Rudy highlighted the introduction of the 'National Manufacturing Mission' to promote solar energy, electric vehicle batteries, and nuclear energy, with a commitment to developing 100 gigawatts of nuclear power by 2047. A new scheme for urban poor and workers aims to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities, supported by the 'Abin Challenge Fund' of ₹1 lakh crore to transform cities into growth centers.
To boost trade and exports, the 'Bharat Trade Net' platform has been launched. Special schemes have been introduced to enhance the global competitiveness of MSMEs and startups. The 'Jan Vishwas Act 2.0' will simplify over 100 legal provisions, and an 'Investment Friendliness Index' will be launched to attract industrial investment in states.
The budget also announces health security under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (Ayushman Bharat) for gig workers, benefiting over 1 crore unorganized sector workers employed on online platforms, including delivery personnel, cab drivers, freelancers, and other digital workers.
