The State Cabinet here on Tuesday decided to approve the ‘Madhya Pradesh State Self-reliant Gaushalas Establishment Policy: 2025’ under the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department for resolving the issue of homeless cattle in the state.
The Cabinet decided to increase the assistance for Gaushalas from Rs 20 per cow per day to Rs. 40 per cow per day as per the Chief Minister's announcement, to encourage the establishment of Gaushalas.
The Cabinet decided to rename the "Chief Minister Animal Husbandry Development Scheme" to "Dr Ambedkar Animal Husbandry Development Scheme" while continuing the scheme for the years 2024-25 and 2025-26. The objective is to increase employment opportunities, enhance productivity, increase farmers' income, contribute to the state's GDP, and the national GDP. Under the approval, zero percent interest rate credit cards will be made available to farmers for animal husbandry activities through cooperatives. Programs such as embryo transplantation, sterility control camps, Chief Minister Dairy Plus program, fodder production program, awards for the state's indigenous cattle breeds and advanced dairy breeds, and orientation programs for animal breeders will continue.
The Cabinet decided to sign an MoU with Edcil (India) Limited, an organization affiliated with the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to improve the quality of education under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
