Ranchi bandh called against Anil Tiger's killing remain effective

Friday, 28 March 2025 | PNS | Ranchi

The effect of the bandh organized in protest against the murder of BJP leader Anil Tiger remained effective in Ranchi. BJP workers blocked one side of the road, which affected the traffic.

Apart from the Styate BJP Unit, Jharkhand Loktantrik Kaltankari Morcha (JLKM) workers also sat on the road and protested and raised slogans against the State Government. Due to the road jam, the passersby had to face a lot of trouble. People going to RIMS through Booti Mod Chowk were also stuck in the jam and remained stuck for a long time. The protest badly affected the traffic system.

In view of the Ranchi bandh in protest against the murder of BJP leader Anil Tiger, Ranchi police came out on the streets and started arresting the bandh supporters. During this, Argora police detained BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdev. This bandh got the support of many political parties. From 8 am onwards, the bandh supporters blocked the road by burning tires. The anger of the bandh supporters was seen everywhere. The vehicles coming and going were being stopped.

JLKM leader Devendra Nath Mahato has been detained by the police during a protest against the murder of Neel Mahato. He was detained from the protest site Albert Ekka Chowk at around 11:50 AM on Thursday morning. During the detention, there was a heated argument between the bandh supporters and the administration. Devendra Nath Mahato had issued an official letter on Wednesday on behalf of the "Jharkhand Loktantrik Kranti Morcha" regarding the entire Jharkhand bandh including the capital Ranchi. During the police detention, Devendra Nath Mahato said that jungle raj is going on in the state. Law and order is poor, murders are happening continuously.

Senior AJSU Party leader Praveen Prabhakar was also arrested in the Ranchi bandh called in protest against the brutal murder of Anil Tiger. Along with him, dozens of workers including Kumud Verma were arrested while demonstrating at Albert Ekka Chowk at 12 noon.

The police administration has made special arrangements for the Ranchi bandh. More than 1000 policemen have been deployed. For law and order, 12 Dy SPs including four trainee DSPs and more than two dozen inspectors including police station in-charges have been deployed. Special security arrangements have been made at every point.

The bandh supporters are being monitored through drone camera CCTV, videography and photography at the squares and intersections. DIG cum SSP Chandan Sinha said that like the previous bandh, the district police and administration are on alert in this bandh as well.

Officers will be present in the CCTV control room, who will identify the trouble makers and keep their footage. RAP, JAP, Echo, JAP's women battalion, Vajra vehicle, colored water tanker, tear gas and fire brigade have been deployed for the bandh.
