On an inspection of under construction projects in the Kolar area of the state capital, MLA Rameshwar Sharma on Tuesday issued fresh directives for traffic signals, drainage and road connectivity improvements.
Sharma began his inspection at CI Square, walking along the ongoing four-lane construction of Awadh Marg up to Bansal Hospital. He was accompanied by administrative officials and engineers.
The MLA reviewed street lighting plans, drainage systems and the pace of connecting roadwork. He also examined the road stretch being developed from Kerwa Dam to Semri.
The indoor stadium at Banjari was also inspected during the visit. Sharma gave instructions to speed up construction and ensure timely delivery of public amenities.
The Public Works Department is building a five-kilometre road between Bansal Hospital trisection and CI Square at a cost of Rs 40 crore, officials informed.
Work near Danish Square and CI Square is still pending. The MLA instructed that this stretch be completed without further delays to ease local traffic.
Traffic signals will be installed at Virasha Heights–Agrasen Square. Sharma stressed that installation should begin promptly to improve vehicular flow and pedestrian safety.
He also issued instructions for better drainage infrastructure and urged the swift construction of all connecting roads linked to the main stretch. A new bridge near Kalibadi Temple, across the Kaliasot River, is also part of the broader development.
