In view of the Ram Navami celebrations on Monday, the Jamshedpur Police has issued a strong warning against the spread of provocative or misleading content on social media platforms. Citizens have been urged to refrain from sharing any objectionable remarks, fake news, morphed images, or inflammatory videos that may disrupt public peace.
The advisory, released by the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police, warns against circulating such content on platforms including Facebook, Twitter (X), WhatsApp, Instagram, and YouTube. Individuals found engaging in such acts may face strict legal action, the police have confirmed.
To ensure a peaceful festive atmosphere, police have intensified surveillance across digital platforms. The advisory highlights that any attempt to incite communal disharmony, disrupt law and order, or spread panic through digital means will be dealt with firmly.
"Think before you share" is the core message from the authorities, urging citizens to act responsibly and report any suspicious or provocative material they come across.

Citizens have also been assured that the identity of the informant will be kept confidential.In addition to the digital vigilance, the police have urged people to celebrate Ram Navami in a spirit of harmony, respecting all communities. “Jamshedpur Police is committed to ensuring public safety and communal harmony during all festivals. We appeal to everyone to act with responsibility, both online and offline,” the advisory concludes.

On April 6, the movement of all heavy vehicles will be completely restricted in two phases—from 6:00 AM to 11:30 AM and again from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM. However, passenger buses will be allowed during these hours to facilitate public transportation. The restrictions will be tightened on April 7, when a complete ban on goods carriers, four-wheelers, buses, and heavy vehicles will come into effect from 1:00 PM on April 7 until 6:00 AM on April 8.
More than 1800 police force along with 12 companies of Rapid Action Force (paramilitary force), four companies of Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP) and 400 home guards will be deployed across the city with 157 magistrates.
There will be a 24x7 control room at the composite control room (CCR) office in Sakchi police station campus, while temporary control rooms will be functional at Bagbera police station and Mango police station.
Meanwhile colourful professions marked Ramnavmi celebrations in the city on Sunday night. Devotees in large numbers participated in the celebrations with members of several Akhara committees displaying daredevil acts throughout the route.
The procession comprised band and sankirtan parties formed of devotees coming from other parts of district especially for the occasion. It was a fun-filled and colourful affair Rath Yatras or chariot processions of Ram, his wife Sita, brother Lakshman and devotee Hanuman began from various temples. Special havans were organised along with Vedic mantras.
