MLA Raj Sinha on Wednesday raised serious drinking water crisis in entire Jharkhand including Dhanbad district in Jharkhand assembly and
the demand for solution of the crisis.
Sinha drew the attention of the House towards this burning issue and said that this is a very important issue as Summer has approached Sinha said,' I have been raising the issue to resolve the drinking water crisis since last two-three years but department and government have turned deaf ears towards this perennial crisis.The general public has a lot of expectations from Development concerned but it has failed to provide drinking water to the people of Dhanbad.
Sinha said six years have passed since the water supply scheme was launched for but crisis remains unresolved.
Regarding the reply received in this regard from the Ministry of Urban Development Department Sinha said that there was a delay in getting the NOC from NHAI, but the NOC has been provided by NHAI on 15 January 2025 but in two month s department failed to take up initial works . Sinha invited the Urban Development Minister to visit Dhanbad and said that you should come and see the water supply schemes there for yourself. Sinha also asked the Urban Development Minister clearly that he should give the deadline for completion of these water supply schemes in house . The government should take a serious approach to NOC and other works. Getting NOC from departments and coordinating is the work of Urban Development. Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha said that the irony is that the common people of the state are left to suffer . Sinha said in the House that a committee team of MPs, MLAs and senior officials of the concerned department should be formed under the chairmanship of Urban Development Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu or Parliamentary Affairs Minister. Sinha also accused the Jharkhand government of making lame excuse of NOC in the House.
Agreeing to the demands of Raj Sinha, Urban Development Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu announced that after Ram Navami, a joint committee will be formed with Dhanbad MLA and other public representatives to resolve the issue of NOC immediately.
